Emily A. Nielsen and Orville F. Nielsen, MD Music Scholarship in honor of Professor Mary Burgess

Awarded to an incoming freshman or a sophomore student who has demonstrated interest in pursuing music as a major. The student will retain through their senior year as long as they continue to meet the criteria. The recipient should have academic merit or exceptional ability in the field of music performance with preference to a student in voice. Preference for financial need. The scholarship is renewable through the senior year.

Application is available in the Office of the Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Music Department. The application deadline varies but is generally mid-March. Review of application and selection done by committee. Recipients will be chosen in the spring for the following academic year.
