Joel Kellman '63 Family Scholarship

Established in 1999 this scholarship will be awarded annually to an African-American student(s) studying at Binghamton University who is in need of financial assistance. The student(s) should show high potential which would not necessarily be reflected in a high grade point average and be motivated to excel. Recipients will be considered and selected according to these principles and the following guidelines. 1) Harpur College undergraduate, 2) African-American 3) demonstrated financial need and 4) students of high potential who are highly motivated to excel.

Student must have a FAFSA on file to demonstrate financial need according to federal financial aid guidelines. No additional application or inquiry is required in order to be considered for this scholarship. A review of qualified students is done based on donor terms, and selection is made based on high academic achievement and financial need. Recipients are selected in the Spring for the following academic year.
