Paul Kerns Memorial Scholarship

Established in 2017 by Sodexo in memory of Paul Kerns. This scholarship will be awarded to an incoming freshman student that has graduated from a high school in Broome County, NY. The student must participate in one community service project annually. This service can be through the University, church or other civic group. The scholarship is awarded to a student that is focused on community service with a preference for a student that assisted with ending hunger in our community. One letter of recommendation is required from a leader in one of the community service projects that the student has completed. The student must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher. This scholarship is renewable for an additional three years contingent upon the student’s continued eligibility as stated above.

No application or inquiry is required in order to be considered for this scholarship. Recipients are selected in the Spring for the following academic year.
