Fred L. Kennedy '50 Scholarship in Social Studies Education

Established in 1997 by Fred L. Kennedy ’50, a local social studies teacher. This scholarship will be awarded to a student in the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) Social Studies program who demonstrates potential to become an excellent teacher, and who plans to teach social studies in grades 9-12 in a public high school. Preference is given to residents of Broome or Tioga counties.

Student must have a FAFSA on file to demonstrate financial need according to federal financial aid guidelines. No additional application or inquiry is required in order to be considered for this scholarship. A review of qualified students is done based on donor terms, and selection is made based on high academic achievement and financial need. Recipients are selected in the Spring for the following academic year.
